Tweens is a STRIVE social program currently held every Friday from 3:30–5:30 p.m. 11–14 year olds (“tweens”) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities are invited to enjoy structured activities with peers in a fun and safe environment! Weekly events are led by PSL Services/STRIVE staff and members of the local community.
Previous Tweens activities include top chef, tie dye, yoga, and karaoke. Previous Tweens community presenters include ecoMaine, South Portland Fire Department, Portland Boxing Club and Skytoyz. Our Tweens schedule and activities change each month.
Tweens
Fridays from 3:30–5:30 p.m.
February Tweens will be full of energy, creativity, and fun—this month’s sessions will be led by University of New England’s Occupational Therapy
students!
Each Friday will bring something new as our student leaders plan a variety of engaging activities, games,
and projects for the group.
This week's session will be focused on lava!
Tweens will begin by playing an active game called "The Floor is Lava" and then transition into a science experiment where they create their own lava lamps!
