STRIVE Studios Instructor Letter

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in being a part of STRIVE StudiosPSL Services/STRIVE's newest dedicated art program. We are currently seeking volunteer instructors to lead our art classes.

PSL Services/STRIVE is a non-profit in South Portland that supports and assists individuals with intellectual disabilities through various programs. Our programs work to build independent living skills and community integration.

STRIVE Studios will offer ceramics, painting, sewing, screen printing, beading, digital photography and more. Have another offering you’d be interested in teaching? We’d love to hear about it! Currently, we are looking for willing, passionate, and thoughtful instructors to lead classes for our clients and the public beginning spring 2020. Class curriculum and schedule is up to the instructor. Classes will be held Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:45-11:45 and 1:45-4:15. In exchange, we will offer our instructors a work-trade program and the ability to collect fees from community members who want to participate in a class. Our soft opening will take place Tuesday, March 17, with our first sewing class.

Ultimately, our goal is to construct a meaningful, welcoming art program for our clients and community. Classes will primarily serve our clients, but are open to the public as well, with the opportunity for evening and weekend classes eventually.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to talk more.

All the best and many thanks,

Meg Hahn and Emily Wright
