STRIVE Studios

Thank you for considering to be a
Volunteer Instructor at STRIVE Studios!

The following outlines the work-trade program, collecting fees from the public, and what to include when designing a class:

  • As a volunteer instructor at STRIVE Studios, we want to acknowledge your willingness of time, skill sharing, and expertise--so thank you. With that said, we will be offering teachers a work-trade program in exchange, in addition to the ability to collect fees from members of the public who want to attend a class.

  • Work-Trade:
    • Once your class has been approved, you are welcome to use the studios as you wish when classes are not in session. The equipment is there for your use. We just ask for respect, honesty, cleanliness of the space, and that you use your own materials.
  • Collecting Fees:
    • When designing your class, please consider a price to charge per person for members of the public to attend your class. Anyone can participate in a class, but we predict that evenings may be a more popular time.
  • For example, say you are interested in teaching a workshop in digital photography from 2pm-3pm, every Tuesday for 4 weeks. The majority of our clients participate in our day program at STRIVE at 28 Foden Rd, so we would see that morning who is interested in this class and bring them over to you. Another example is, let's say you want to teach a class on hand built mugs from 10-11am, every Tuesday for 6 weeks. Three clients come and five members of the public come. The instructor will set a fee for the public (eg. $25/person/per class) and can collect that for themselves.
